RAV keeps usage reporting small and anonymous.

Anonymous Usage

Official RAV releases generate a random anonymous installation identifier locally. It is reused only for that installation's install, monthly, and opt-out reports.

A report contains the anonymous identifier, its event type, and the RAV release. Monthly reports also contain the UTC month. RAV does not send Rive files, file paths, hardware identifiers, account data, or license data.

Retention and service providers

The counter service stores an HMAC of the identifier, not the raw identifier. Event digests are retained for 90 days. Aggregate installation status is retained only to count installations and honor an opt-out.

The counter runs on Cloudflare. Like any web connection, Cloudflare may receive ordinary connection metadata such as IP address and request information under its own service terms.

Turning it off

You can turn Anonymous Usage off at any time in RAV Settings. RAV sends one final disabled status for that anonymous installation, then stops reporting. If delivery fails, only that final status may be retried on a later launch; no install or monthly reports resume.
